Senior Principal Software Developer: CTIO Team - Control Path/Operating Environment

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics - all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

What you'll achieve

As a Senior Software Principal Developer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer's business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

You will:
  • Deliver key features in our product portfolio, end to end ecosystem, covering edge, core as well as multi-cloud.
  • Requirements gathering, customer alignment and relationship building,
  • Developing and Triaging of the potential solutions and technologies
  • Support for customer validation and quantification of the business value
  • Possible projects: Enabling developer integration through manifest generation, compilation, for example TOSCA, CRD (custom resource definition) and data model development for multi-component orchestration, Development of an Operating Environment for Infrastructure Microservice as well as system architecture and model.

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field, 13+ years of software development experience, 7+ years of software development experience with strong development/programming experience in Go/Python
  • Working knowledge of cloud ecosystem and management as well as container lifecycle management products: Kubernetes, Istio, Docker, etc.
  • Working knowledge of PaaS product offerings in large-scale enterprise environments with hands-on experience building/using/extending frameworks and generic capabilities of API services
  • Working knowledge of modern aggregation and analytics tools such as, Prometheus, as well as streaming data protocols
  • Strong development/programming experience in Python/Ansible/ Kubernetes


Desirable Requirements
  • Exposure to infrastructure automation/orchestration facilities such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, basic shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with the principles of RESTful interfaces, event driven ecosystems, cloud native application patterns/tools, and microservice architectures.
  • Exposure in networking and/or security with a working knowledge of common protocols -- routing protocols, IP segmentation, foundational TCP/UDP concepts, IAM
