Description
Location: We are flexible! Come and join us either in Hamburg, Berlin, Barcelona or Athens. At Freenow, we are at an exciting point in our history - we are building a world-class product used daily by millions of people, while scaling the next generation of AI-powered capabilities across the company. As part of the Lyft group, we operate at the intersection of mobility, data, and AI, solving complex, large-scale problems that have real-world impact.
We are looking for a Product Manager - AI (m/f/d) to drive the strategy, prioritisation, and delivery of internal and platform AI products. You will act as the single front door for AI initiatives, ensuring they are valuable, safe, scalable, and aligned with legal, security, and business requirements.
With us, you will stretch, learn, and grow in a creative, diverse, and highly collaborative environment spanning more than 70 nationalities and 11 markets across Europe. Don't join Freenow because of the perks - join us if you want to shape how AI is responsibly built and used at scale.
YOUR DAILY ADVENTURES WILL INCLUDE:
- You own the AI product portfolio and roadmap, translating company strategy and business needs into clear priorities across internal AI products, platforms, and enablement initiatives.
- You act as the single point of coordination for AI use cases, working closely with Product, Tech, Data, Legal, Security, and Privacy to assess feasibility, risk, and value.
- You lead the product direction for internal AI products (e.g. company-wide AI assistants, AI knowledge bases, evaluation platforms), ensuring reliability, usability, and clear ownership.
- You define problem statements, success metrics, and acceptance criteria for AI initiatives, with a strong focus on quality, evaluation, and real business impact.
- You collaborate closely with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Platform Engineers to move AI solutions from experimentation to production, while avoiding over-engineering.
- You ensure AI products comply with governance, data protection, and regulatory requirements (e.g. EU AI Act), working as a bridge between technical teams and Legal/InfoSec.
- You establish and evolve AI product discovery and intake processes, making sure initiatives are aligned, documented, and scalable.
- You communicate clearly and regularly with stakeholders, setting expectations, surfacing trade-offs, and providing transparency on progress, risks, and decisions.
- Several years of experience as a Product Manager, ideally working on AI-powered products, data platforms, or internal tools.
- Strong understanding of AI / GenAI systems (LLMs, RAG, evaluation, prompt iteration, model limitations), even if you are not hands-on coding daily.
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional environments, balancing product value, technical constraints, and governance requirements.
- Experience defining product strategy, roadmaps, and success metrics for complex or non-deterministic systems.
- Comfort working with technical stakeholders (Data Science, Engineering, Platform) and translating between business and technical language.
- A structured and pragmatic mindset: you care about shipping useful products, not just experimentation.
- Excellent communication skills and strong written and spoken English.
- Experience with AI evaluation frameworks, experimentation, or quality measurement for ML / LLM systems.
- Exposure to AI governance, compliance, or privacy-by-design processes.
- Experience building or scaling internal platforms rather than customer-facing features only.
Familiarity with data tooling, analytics platforms, or workflow automation (e.g. BI tools, orchestration tools, low-code systems).
