Job Title: Director of Information Technology
Location: Waltham / Boston visits
Position Type: Full-time
Summary of position:
The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy.
The Director of Information Technology's (IT) primary responsibility is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives and goals of The Baker Center for Children and Families (The Baker Center). The Director of IT will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of The Baker Center, as well as provide direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. The Director of IT will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of The Baker Center. The Director of IT will also define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices, and will also take substantial responsibility for direct IT work, sharing technical support and implementation tasks with the IT Team while managing the team for optimal productivity and effectiveness.

Essential duties:
- Ensure stable, productive IT and Communications platforms to support The Baker Center's operations, including planning, purchasing, implementation, debugging, support, administration, and related tasks.
- Lead collaborative planning of IT support for business and strategic goals.
- Define and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to senior leadership team, department Directors, support staff and end users.
- Manage IT Team across locations for effectiveness and accountability.
- Oversee and provide hands-on support for MS AD, network and firewall administration, phone system, help desk, cloud services i.e. Office365, MS Azure, etc. and technical support.
- Select and manage independent contractors and vendors as needed to meet organizational IT needs.
- Ensure IT security in accordance with applicable standards and practices such as HIPAA, ISO27001, NIST security practices.
- Manage the IT department budget, including purchasing, annual budget, budget review and five-year capital budget in collaboration with the VP of Finance.
- Oversee maintenance of a complete and comprehensive inventory of computer equipment and phones.
- Oversee management of IT infrastructure and development plans, projects, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision.
- Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what innovative technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements.
- Other duties or projects as requested.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associates degree or equivalent required. Advanced degree in IT, IT Security or related preferred.
Experience:
- At least 15 years of progressive technical responsibilities within IT, including experience managing and/or directing an IT operation.
- Proven experience in strategic IT planning and policy development.
- Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through day-to-day management.
- Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
- Experience managing Windows, Apple and Android products is highly desirable.
- Multiple years' experience developing and implementing IT plans and budgets.
- Experience in development of IT policy and protocol documents and managing IT security audits
- Prior knowledge of best practices in auditing, including HIPAA, ISO27001, PCI is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of help desk systems, asset tracking tools, MS cloud platform, and cloud services
- Multiple projects demonstrating integration of IT into business and strategic initiatives.
- Preferred - Experience working within a non-profit organization.
- Preferred Experience working in an outpatient clinical and or K-12 school setting environment.
Training:
- Formal training in and practice of project management tools.
- Certification or equivalent competence in Windows active directory, desktop administration and maintenance, MS azure cloud, AD, end-point security and encryption tools
- Must be familiar with networking products, Dell Servers, and PC's.
Logistics
License/Certification: Preferred MS AD, Office365, Intune, CISSP, CISM, PMP
Salary: $130,000 - $140,000
