Overview
The Data Analyst partners with Finance, HR, Sales, and Marketing teams to deliver actionable insights that improve financial performance, commercial effectiveness, and operational decision-making. This is a blended Data Analyst / Business Analyst role: strong analytical and technical skills are core, paired with the ability to understand business processes, ask the right questions, and translate business needs into data-driven solutions. This role will work with complex datasets spanning ERP, financial planning, trade promotion, sales performance, and marketing analytics, helping leaders move from descriptive reporting to insight-driven decisions.
Responsibilities
Data Collection & Management
- Gather, clean, validate, and reconcile data from ERP (JDE), financial systems, sales, marketing, and other internal and external sources.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across reporting and analytics solutions.
- Partner with IT and data engineering teams to improve data pipelines, definitions, and availability.
- Document data sources, assumptions, and business rules to support transparency and reuse.
Data Analysis
- Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and business insights.
- Perform ad hoc and recurring analyses to support business decisions and strategic initiatives such as budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis, pricing, promotions, and customer performance.
- Apply statistical techniques and analytical methods to support business decisions.
- Support development of predictive models or scenario-based analyses as capabilities mature.
Reporting & Visualization
- Design, create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
- Translate complex analyses into clear, concise visual stories tailored to executive and business audiences
- Automate and standardize recurring reports to improve efficiency.
Business Partnership
- Collaborate with business units to understand data needs and translate requirements into analytical solutions.
- Support strategy teams, finance, operations, and leadership with actionable insights, metrics, and solutions.
- Proactively identify opportunities where data and analytics can improve decision-making, efficiency, or performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations to influence decisions and improve business performance.
Data Governance & Compliance
- Follow and support data governance, security, and privacy standards.
- Help define and maintain consistent metrics, KPIs, and definitions across finance and commercial reporting.
- Promote best practices in data quality, documentation, and analytical rigor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years experience supporting data & analytics in a complex enterprise environment
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas)
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying and validating data.
- Experience creating dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication (technical and non-technical) and teamwork skills
- Interest in applying analytics to business areas (accounting, finance, HR, sales, marketing)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a complex enterprise environment (e.g., multi-system, cross-functional, or large-scale organization).
- Eager to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a diverse team
- Range of pay $80,000 - $100,000 per year. Plus, annual bonus.
