Overview
DLH Corp, is looking for a Public Health Data Analyst, using R, Power BI, and SAS,to join our talented and innovative team supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA. This is a hybrid work environment based out of Atlanta. Teleworking most days with visits to the CDC campus for in-person meetings and office visits.
CDC's National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP), the Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) is charged with preventing HIV infection and reducing the incidence of HIV-related illness and death. The overarching objectives of the contract held by DLH are to assist DHP in addressing its public health mission by providing data management, data governance, data analysis, and data dissemination support to strengthen the nationwide capacity to monitor the HIV epidemic. As such, DLH is seeking an Atlanta-based Data Analyst with the following skills:
Responsibilities
- Conduct geospatial and molecular HIV analysis and interpret results using R.
- Work collaboratively with other analysts to develop novel code in support of analyses.
- Support the dissemination and reporting of data to internal and external partners.
- Review data error logs to ensure that requested data modifications are done according to the protocol.
- Review the data files to document problems and proposed corrections needed to be made to finalize the data set.
- Document problems with the R program and any proposed corrections needed to finalize the data.
- Merge data from different sources into spreadsheets; conduct necessary steps to ensure the quality of the resulting merge.
- Assist with developing data management processes and protocols.
- Provide updates to team members regarding the status of projects.
- Develop from the ground up or manage a previously created dashboard within Power BI.
Qualifications
- Strong, demonstrated R experience.
- Demonstrated experience creating and managing dashboards using Power BI.
- Familiarity with SAS (SAS MACROS, PROC SQL, FORMATS, etc.) in order to convert SAS code to R.
- Clear communication (written and verbal).
- Experience working with the CDC. (preferred)
- Experience working with HIV Surveillance and/or molecular disease detection data. (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in public health, statistics, or related field.
- 2 years of experience working with R and Power BI (some SAS experience).
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple data sources to monitor and assess data to ensure data quality, including accuracy and completeness.
- Master's degree in public health. (preferred)
- Knowledge of HIV, molecular data, and public health surveillance systems. (preferred)
- 2 years of experience in generating SAS-based reports using a variety of methods (e.g., PROC REPORT, PROC TABULATE) and exporting those reports to other formats such as Microsoft Excel, PDF, and HTML. (preferred)
- Experience with large (>500,000 observations), document-based datasets. (preferred)
- Detail-oriented and able to create meticulous documentation of variables, datasets, and data attributes with a commitment to generating accurate data and products. (preferred)
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain a NAC Clearance
